- When should I have my portrait taken?
To capture that 'glowing' period and that classic 1/2 moon crescent shape, 32 weeks onwards works well.
Of course some choose to record much earlier and return for further shoots as their pregnancy progresses - a fantastic timeline of images completed with the baby shoot too!
It's important not to book too late in case you miss your chance by birthing early. I gave birth at 36 weeks and she was my first baby!
If you are reading this and you are almost due, please call me and I'll try to book your sitting asap, if possible.
This is a very personal choice. Clever lighting and wraps can hide the embarrassing bits. We often start clothed and work towards some naked bump shots, or more, when you feel warm and comfy with where you are.
I recommend no tight bra straps, trouser bands etc. as they leave marks on the skin.
Plain underwear and and any favourite outfits/jewellery will make you feel special too.
Make-up and hair shouldn't be forgotten!
I do supply wraps and plain mens' shirts (a great relaxed look) I also recommend that any clothes you bring are plain otherwise they can look too busy and detract from your beautiful bump.
Worried about stretch marks, unsightly blemishes? Don't worry I can alter these digitally.
- I'm unsure of what happens on the day?
We have the studio to ourselves.
Plenty of time for discussing the kind of portraits you would like.
Plenty of time to stop for a rest, baby feeds/changes and bathroom breaks.
I recommend you've eaten and are well rested beforehand as it can be tiring standing around.
Other children and partners are very welcome and enable me to capture the family story. Even your own mum could join a picture of you and baby, showing the generations of motherhood!
