Why There is No Such Thing as a Bikini Body
If you recall, last summer the argument on the “bikini body” hit a high point, as an online health website Protein World promoted themselves on the London Underground with an ad that stated “Are You Summer Ready?” with a slender looking woman in a bright yellow bikini. Naturally, a lot of people (myself included) were appalled by this view of the perfect bikini body and the ad sparked outrage and protests.
Yes, she looks great, but there isn’t one way to be “summer ready” and quite frankly, it’s pretty sexist to suggest otherwise. Whether you want to wear a bikini, tankini or one-piece, you should be allowed to wear what you want without being judged. We’re all different and we should embrace that fact.
At Rare Moments studio, my team and I say “pfft!” to diets and hello to loving yourself, regardless of your lumps, we’re here to celebrate you.
